In the light of International Women's Day, some hundred women in social shelters/unhoused women will be in the spotlight on March 8th, 2022. The Kessler Foundation organises a The Hague Women's Day for these women, with the help of tens of volunteers. This day is intended to improve these women's self-sufficiency/self-empowerment through workshops on the development of talent and responsibility, and to provide for a carefree day.

Local organisations concerned with improving the position of women, will be present to help with diminishing the distance between society and women from social shelters/unhoused women. Hence, this year the theme will be "Empowerment" indeed. Through professional workshops we aim to provide access to a long-lasting support on a social level to assist these women.

Furthermore we will have hairdressers, visagistes, Reiki therapists, pedicurists and manicurists present and the woman also have the opportunity to pick out all the clothes they want, provided for free by the so-called "Pakkie Deftig'' shops that are part of the Kessler Foundation.

Another hundred women in social shelters/unhoused women in The Hague will receive a bag filled with essential care products, like toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel and -definitely- feminine hygiene products. Finally, another hundred women will be handed out a voucher to spend in a "Pakkie Deftig" shop. This way we will be able to put the spotlight on as many women as possible during International Women's Day in March 2022.
